It has been a much appreciated recovery week this week. There was a time when 45 minute runs featured in a big week, now however, they are just a gentle jaunt to keep the legs turning over.
The big news must be the arrival of the new toy, the Tacx Bushido Turbo trainer, completely wireless and oozing with features. Having been an owner of a Tacx Fortius I was thankfully not to star struck by the feature set. What was quite different was the fact that you have to manage the charging of the dynamo on the turbo before you can use it properly. The resistence from the head unit goes into overload initially, to the extent where you can hardly turn the pedals. However, after a few minutes it does calm its self down and you start to get resistance more akin to riding on a level road. I also tried it with the Tacx Trainer Software which I had a pirate evaluation version that worked quite well on the Mac using VMWare. I will see how i get on with the turbo by its self before I spend another pile of cash on a legitimate copy of the Software. The next couple of weeks will be building the hours again, that combined with another trip away to London will push my organisational skills. In the mean time I have made the most of a quiet week to get as much personal admin sorted as possible. Hopefully that will see me through the next couple of weeks.

A Sports Massage can make a great gift to get someone back on the road to recovery.
