Week 01 & 02: Training and Review

Well the past two weeks have tested my commitment and general motivation, New year in London, and the prospect of getting back into the groove of a new year, can test anyones resolve, thankfully I seemed to have passed with flying colours. All training sessions were hit with little fuss.

The Pool reopened on the 4th and it seems that everyone has made a resolution to go use it at lunch times GRRR. The week 2 training summary is below some good workouts which i happily took in my stride.

Saturday:

Run: 1hr run with HR at 150BPM and a few light hills.

Swim: A fairly easy form session that required more engagement from mind rather than body

Sunday:

Bike: Now hitting the 2hr mark with the biking which is pleasing managed to regulate nutrition intake as well today which was a useful exercise.

Monday:

Strength and conditioning session followed by a short sharp work on the bike, This was scheduled as a turbo session but still have not got my arse in gear with that.

Tuesday:

Swim: this was key workout of the week a "500s" time trial, although the splits seemed to be relatively ok most of the sets were hampered by to much traffic in the lane. I might need to review what times of day I hit the pool.

Wednesday:

Core and balance work followed by a 1hr bike with a few sprints to mix it up .

Thursday:

Double Run day: 40 min run in the morning followed by 37 min run in the evening. Legs were feeling a little tired and heavy by the end of the training week.

I'm pleased to be heading into a recovery week next week, body is starting to feel a little overwhelmed now.
